The Latest Treble

new-kitty2It was a dark stormy…um…day. Actually, it was. It was raining cats and dogs. I never saw the dogs, but the cat was staring me in the face. A coworker had found this patchwork kitten sitting at the front entrance of our office, crying to get inside and out of the rain. The LED “Sucker” sign must have lit up across my forehead, because before I knew it I was shutting down my computer and walking out of the office with my lunch bag, umbrella and… a kitten and going straight to the vet for a check-up. I’m not sure which of us needed it more at that point!

The problem now is a name. I have no clue, so I’m enlisting your help. There isn’t much of a back story on the kitten to help in naming though. Apparently, she had been seen many times under the cars of our office building over the last several days. She’s a jumper. At the vet she performed a four foot high-jump onto the examination table. It would be nice to have something that didn’t sound like “Tilly.” Tilly is the (now) big sister.

So, vote for a name for this newly rescued kitty. If you have a name that is not on the polling list, add it to the comments and I will add it to the voting list. Terms from the following interests are not out of the question: crochet, yarn/fiber, rollercoaster, Disney, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter (wow I’m a geek).

How about “Rainy”. Spelled differently it is the first name of my granddaughter’s best friend. And it seems appropriate.

OMG – we have one just like her. Ours is named June. She’s a lovebug…sometimes to a fault. My brother and his wife have one like this too – her name is “Patches”.

How about “Stormy”?

I was thinking about naming her the month she was found, but “February” just doesn’t flow off the tongue very well. LOL

And yes, she too is a Love Bug to the max!

My suggestion is Milly. That way you’ll have Tilly & Milly. Oh, how about Silly. Then you can have Silly Tilly… Guess I’m just into rhymes (even if you aren’t). =]

After seeing her photos, I have a new name submission . .
How about Sally (from the Nightmare Before Christmas)?
She is a patchwork of colors and patterns just like Jack Skellington’s Sally.

My first thought was “Lucky” as in so lucky to have found you. BC was another thought. Seriously I have never had a cat – dogs are so much easier to name.

I’ve always thought Helix the perfect name for a cat adopted by someone who works in the bioscience arena. And think of the fun you can have singing: “Helix the cat, the wonderful, wonderful cat, whenever he gets in a fix …” If you’re old enough, you know the words.

George, of all people, YOU didn’t come up with a Star Trek name?

I’m kind of digging Helix. Sadly, I’m old enough to know the words.

I’m with Gayle on Callie, but George’s vote is a winner–Helix!

After the email you just shared with me, I’m afraid of the name I might come up with, so I won’t offer a new one.

Good luck!

I love the kitten’s pattern. Will you be knitting any sweaters that look like your kitten’s coat? Maybe you should name her kitty Knitter.

Just “Patches”. She’s beautiful. She will make a great kid sister to Tilly.

Ariel. She was an underwater creature seeking her hero in her own fairy tale–and she found him. You’re a hero for rescuing her, so you would have to change your name to Prince (Charming, that is).

When we offered our suggestions, I didn’t know you had a list going…

Tex and Trouble vote firmly against Lucky, for reasons involving a speeding car and a possibly drunk, very bad lady.

I vote for Bruce Willis…. that’s an awesome name and I think it is hillariously funny for a girl

If you didn’t want one like “Tilly” why is there a “Milly” in the choices?

Just curious.

I vote for “Bob”, FWIW. That was the name of my imaginary St. Bernard. Sweet, but knocked things over all the time.

I’m partial to Stormy since you found her during one and I had a tabby cat named that. Plus if she’s got a lot of energy, that also fits. Rainy or Raini also would work.

I like the name, “Hermoine” from Harry Potter, or “Arwen” from Lord of the Rings. Maybe you’ve already picked a name by now though?

I think cats should have mysterious or magical names since they are magical, after all. I like “Hermoine” from Harry Potter and “Arwen” from Lord of the Rings. I also like “Aurora”.
