Free Pattern Pages

I’ve put together some of the top pages that I go to when I need to search for a pattern. If you have suggestions for other pattern pages that you find useful, please feel free to contact me.
This is the first place I go to find patterns. They have great advanced search filters. You are able to filter your search by yarn type, gauge and a whole lot more. You can even filter your search so it only finds men’s patterns.
A good site to browse through. They don’t have a men’s section (so few do) but they do have a French and Spanish section. Great as long as you aren’t making anything for your French or Spanish man.
A good site to find some unusual patterns. It’s a little difficult to find what you are looking for if you know what you are looking for. If you are clueless as to what you’re are looking for, it’s a great site to browse.
I’ve been going here for years. A main alphabetized directory leads you to all sorts of free pattern categories.
A good listing of crochet patterns on an uberly cool designed site. You are at the mercy of the pattern names since there are no thumbnails of the patterns. A great listing of pattern categories, though I would like to see a men’s section. Maybe it’s under Pets.
A very cool site when you are looking for something with a little European flavor.
This is one of the first places I start looking when I have no idea what I’m looking for. Every pattern has a picture, and they seem to have good gifty-type items. I’ve made several patterns from this site.
A similar index as Crochet Pattern Central, with a more early 90’s Internet feel. One of the first sites I started going to when I realized that patterns were free on the Internet.
I use to be very resistant getting patterns here. I just didn’t want to fill in yet another registration to get something. But, I will say, once I caved and registered, it was worth having access to some pretty cool patterns. And the selection is updated regularly.
I can’t do a crochet pattern listing without adding this site. This was the first crochet site that I ever went to and was saddened by the death of its founder and creator Karen. Though it may not be updated often, there are gems to be found.
